Matt grew up in Aiken, South Carolina. He attended Clemson University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Financial Management. He then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Professional Accountancy. His college roommate was from Wauchula, and while visiting the roommate's family, he fell in love with Florida. For over seven years, Matt continued to visit, and in the meantime met his future wife - who is from Hardee County.  They married, and moved to Wauchula from Charleston, SC, where Matt was working with the largest public accounting firm headquartered in the Southeast.  Matt has prepared tax returns and invested in the stock market since he was 16 years old as his neighbor was a CPA.  Matt continued to work for her throughout high school and college.  Matt also owns Reichel Financial, a separate business and financial advisory firm specializing in assisting customers save for their retirements.  Matt is passionate about both tax law, reducing taxes and increasing people’s financial literacy to improve their lives.

Matt and his wife, Savanah, reside in Wauchula with their three children; Reese, Palmer Grace and Tripp. They enjoy being active, scuba diving, going to the beach and love spending time with family and friends while remembering that life is not all about the numbers.
